BALLET I - V & ADVANCED BALLET

Leveled Ballet Classes

Serious ballet training for growing dancers.

At Tye Chua Dance, our leveled ballet program offers a clear training pathway for students ready to build technique, artistry, strength, discipline, and confidence. Beginning with Ballet I and progressing through Ballet V and Advanced Ballet, dancers receive thoughtful instruction in a focused, supportive environment designed for long-term growth.

Our leveled classes are intended for dancers ages 6–19, with Advanced Ballet also open to qualified adult dancers as a drop-in class.

A Clear Pathway for Growing Dancers

Our leveled ballet program is designed for students who are ready for more structured training. Dancers progress through each level with increasing expectations for technique, musicality, strength, alignment, artistry, terminology, and class commitment.

Placement is based on a combination of age, experience, technical readiness, consistency, strength, and instructor recommendation. As dancers advance, they may prepare for pointe, company work, more demanding performance opportunities, summer intensives, and continued artistic growth.

At every level, our goal is to help dancers develop strong technique, thoughtful artistry, and respect for the process.

CLASS OPTIONS

Ballet I

Ages 6-7
1 Class per Week

Ballet I introduces students to more formal ballet training in a structured and encouraging environment. Dancers begin building proper alignment, posture, coordination, musicality, terminology, and classroom focus while continuing to develop confidence and joy in movement.

This level helps students transition from early childhood dance into more disciplined technical study. Dancers will begin learning foundational barre and center work, simple combinations, and the expectations of a leveled ballet class.

Ballet II

Ages 7-8
2 Classes per Week

Ballet II builds on the foundations introduced in Ballet I with increased attention to strength, alignment, turnout, musicality, coordination, and consistency. Students continue developing ballet terminology, classroom discipline, and confidence while working toward more connected and technically aware movement.

Dancers at this level begin to develop greater independence in class and a stronger understanding of how ballet technique supports both artistry and progression.

Ballet III

Ages 9-10
3 Classes per Week

Ballet III marks the beginning of more focused technical development and prepares dancers for increased class demands, pre-pointe work, and early company opportunities.

Students continue building strength, flexibility, alignment, turnout, musicality, and coordination while developing greater precision and consistency. Ballet III dancers are expected to take corrections seriously, develop strong class habits, and begin understanding the connection between daily training and long-term growth.

This level is an important bridge between foundational ballet and more advanced study.

Ballet IV

Ages 11-14
4 Classes per Week

Ballet IV is designed for dancers ready for a more demanding level of classical training. Students continue refining technique, strength, alignment, turnout, musicality, and artistry while working with increased focus, maturity, and responsibility.

At this level, dancers may begin or continue pointe preparation depending on age, strength, consistency, and instructor recommendation. Ballet IV students are expected to demonstrate strong commitment to their training and a willingness to apply corrections with care.

Ballet IV supports dancers as they move toward more advanced technique, expanded performance opportunities, and deeper artistic development.

Ballet V

Ages 14-15
4+ Classes per Week

Ballet V is for committed dancers who are ready for advanced technical study and more sophisticated artistic work. Students continue developing strength, endurance, precision, musicality, pointe work, performance quality, and mature movement expression.

Dancers at this level are expected to train with consistency, focus, and personal responsibility. Classwork becomes more complex, requiring students to retain combinations, apply corrections quickly, and move with both technical clarity and artistic intention.

Ballet V prepares dancers for Advanced Ballet, company work, auditions, summer intensives, and continued pre-professional growth.

Advanced Ballet

Ages 15+
4+ Classes per Week

Advanced Ballet is designed for serious dancers seeking high-level ballet training in a focused and professional environment. This class emphasizes refinement, technical precision, strength, stamina, musicality, artistry, pointe work, and performance quality.

Dancers are challenged to work with maturity, discipline, and attention to detail while continuing to develop the confidence and versatility needed for demanding choreography and performance opportunities.

Advanced Ballet is appropriate for experienced teen dancers, pre-professional students, and advanced adult dancers with strong ballet training.

The Training Pathway

FROM FOUNDATIONS TO ADVANCED STUDY

The leveled ballet program at Tye Chua Dance gives students a clear path forward. Dancers begin by learning the foundations of classical ballet and gradually progress into more advanced technique, pointe work, artistry, performance, and pre-professional preparation.

Each level builds carefully on the one before it. We do not believe in rushing dancers through training before they are ready. Instead, we focus on helping each student develop the strength, understanding, discipline, and confidence needed for safe and lasting progress.

Whether your dancer is entering formal ballet training for the first time, continuing toward advanced work, returning to class, or looking for a place to train seriously, our leveled ballet program offers a clear and supportive path forward.

We would love to help your dancer grow.
