Not Sure Which Pathway or Level Fits?
Tell us the dancer’s age, previous training, current level, and goals. We will help identify the most appropriate place to begin.
Thoughtful Training. Strong Foundations.
Excellent dance education is not simply a matter of moving quickly through levels. It is the careful development of technique, artistry, musicality, confidence, and physical understanding over time.
Technique With Purpose
Training is carefully sequenced so dancers build the strength, coordination, vocabulary, alignment, and musical awareness needed for the work ahead. Progress is measured through readiness, not simply age or time spent in a level.
The Individual Dancer Matters
Dancers develop at different rates and arrive with different bodies, backgrounds, goals, and ways of learning. Placement, correction, encouragement, and advancement are approached with attention to the person—not only the syllabus.
Developing the Whole Artist
Technique is only one part of a dancer’s education. Classes also cultivate musicality, curiosity, discipline, creativity, resilience, collaboration, and the ability to approach challenges with increasing independence.
Training That Meets the Dancer Where They Are
Our goal is not to force every student toward the same outcome. It is to provide each dancer with excellent teaching, meaningful challenge, and the support needed to grow from their own starting point.
New to Tye Chua Dance?
Choosing a class should feel welcoming, not intimidating. Some dancers can register directly for an introductory class, while others benefit from a placement recommendation before enrolling.
We consider age, previous training, current technique, classroom readiness, goals, and the overall fit of the class. Placement is intended to give each dancer a strong and successful place to begin.
Ask About PlacementYoung and Beginning Dancers
Most young dancers beginning with Creative Movement, Pre-Ballet, or an introductory children’s class can start by choosing the age-appropriate offering that best fits their schedule.
Students Entering Leveled Ballet
Dancers with previous ballet experience should contact us before selecting a level. Ballet programs and level names vary between schools, so placement is based on current readiness rather than the title of a former class.
Beginning, Returning, and Experienced Adults
Adults may choose from beginner, open-level, intermediate, and advanced options based on comfort and experience. Returning dancers are welcome to begin conservatively, try a class, and adjust from there.
What Should I Include When Asking About Placement?
Share the dancer’s age, previous training, most recent class or level, how often they have been dancing, and what they hope to find. A brief description is enough to begin the conversation.
